This styled shoot in Lancaster at SUPPLY Manheim was the official launch of AE&F! One of my real-life couples, Megan and Miguel, inspired the theme when they used half oranges in their wedding decor with signs reading, “Mi Media Naranja.” The phrase translates to “my better half” or “my soulmate.” The half oranges signify how no two oranges (or people!) are exactly alike, and each half only has one possible match to make a whole. What could be more romantic than that?
This shoot is near and dear to my heart as the beginning of my creative business journey. From the bold, on-trend color palette to the whimsical florals, it showcases what I want AE&F to be about! I hope this vibrant, romantic wedding inspiration encourages you to ignore the naysayers and start planning the wedding of your dreams.
SUPPLY Manheim was kind enough to let us use their beautiful, minimalist space to stage this styled shoot. I worked with a team of wildly talented Lancaster wedding vendors who helped me transform a blank slate into a colorful and contemporary venue. We selected a palette of luscious reds, pinks, and juicy oranges to communicate the vibrancy of life and love with your soulmate. One of the top 2023 wedding trends is decorating with a bold color palette like this one, and I’ve been loving it!
In addition to the colors, I planned every detail of this SUPPLY Manheim shoot. My meticulous vision-boarding and color-matching took my motto, “It’s all in the details,” to another level! I wanted to start my business with a bang, so I did everything possible to achieve stylistic perfection. Every detail was intentional, from the models to the linen selection and even the color of the menu cards. I used Color Adobe to extract the precise color of the table linens, so I could transpose that color to the cards instead of using a random shade of peach. I also spray-painted the compote vases and candlesticks the exact cream color as the vases provided by The Floral Society!
To inform the rest of the vendors on the team of my vision, I made mood boards for everything from the models’ hair and makeup to the cake design and balloon installations. I was amazed by how every vendor understood and put their unique spin on the vision! The cake from Salt and Light Pastry Co. was a three-tiered masterpiece decorated with colorful slices of fresh citrus fruits that looked gorgeous next to the balloon garland from AO Balloons. Orange, coral, and hot pink balloons of all different sizes formed a vibrant archway to house the cake display. It contrasted perfectly with the white walls of SUPPLY Manheim and could even light up! Meanwhile, hanging citrus garlands, colorful taper candles, and flowers put the finishing touches on the design.
I also meticulously planned the models’ attire for this shoot. I accompanied them to POSH Bridal Lancaster to pick out their attire and to Koser Jewelers to select the bride’s jewelry! Pieces with a subtle hint of “something blue” played a nod to the adage. I also carefully selected shapes that reflected the rest of the design, emphasizing arches, half circles, and ovals as part of the “soul mate”/orange theme. The bride wore drop earrings composed of tiny oval gemstones and an oval-cut diamond ring to match.
Sustainability is a cornerstone of my planning and floral design business in an industry known to be wasteful. So, I was intentional about planning not just the aesthetics of this SUPPLY Manheim shoot but the versatility and reusability of each floral piece. To ensure sustainable, versatile mechanics, I used whatever materials I could get my hands on, including chicken wire, Oshun Pouches, Agra Wool, frog pins, hairpin holders, and moss. I firmly believe that wedding vendors don’t need to sacrifice aesthetics to achieve sustainability, and this shoot proved that!
I’m thrilled that I could plan this styled shoot at SUPPLY Manheim to kick off this business! I’m so grateful to every vendor who supported me and helped me achieve my vision, and I couldn’t be prouder of the result. Whether you need planning and design services, florals, or a mix of the two for your Lancaster wedding, I’m your go-to gal! Let’s get started turning YOUR vision into reality.
